Why posting short videos every day grows your business faster

The businesses that win on Reels, TikTok and Shorts are rarely the ones with the best single video. They are the ones that keep showing up. Posting a short video every day sounds like a lot, but it is the fastest way to learn what your audience wants and to stay in front of people until they are ready to buy.

What the data says

Buffer studied about 2.1 million Instagram posts from roughly 102,000 accounts to see how posting frequency relates to reach and growth. Compared with accounts posting once or twice a week:

  • Accounts posting 3 to 5 times a week got about 12% more reach per post.
  • Accounts posting 10 or more times a week got about 24% more reach per post.
  • Follower growth rose with each step up in frequency, and weeks with no posts showed slower growth than an account's usual pace.

Two honest caveats from the same study: it shows a strong link rather than proof, and the author still calls content quality the most important factor. Posting more helps when every post is worth watching.

Why daily posting works

More chances to hit. Most short videos get an ordinary number of views. A few take off. You cannot predict which ones, so the more good videos you post, the more winners you find.

You learn ten times faster. Post once a week and you get four lessons a month. Post daily and you get thirty. Within a month you know which topics, hooks and formats your audience responds to.

The platforms learn who to show you to. Every video gives the algorithm more signal about which viewers stay and engage. More videos means it finds your audience sooner.

Trust builds through repetition. People rarely buy after one video. They buy after the tenth time you helped them. Daily videos keep you in their feed until the moment they need you.

Your library compounds. Short videos keep getting found for months through search and recommendations. A year of daily posting is 365 ways in.

When posting every day backfires

  • When quality drops to keep the streak. A rushed video with no hook trains people to scroll past you.
  • When it burns you out. Daily for three weeks and then nothing for two months does more harm than five a week you can keep up.
  • When it is long-form. Daily applies to shorts. On YouTube, one strong long video a week usually beats seven weak ones.

So the goal is daily short videos that are each good enough to post, at a pace you can keep for a year.

How to post daily without filming daily

The trick is to separate filming from posting:

  • Record once, post all week. One long video or podcast episode holds eight to twelve shorts. Here is how to turn one video into ten shorts.
  • Batch your short answers. One hour of answering common questions on camera gives you a week or two of content.
  • Plan a calendar. Decide the topics a month ahead, so filming days are about delivery, not ideas.
  • Hand off the edit. Editing is the part that eats the time. Each short takes 2 to 4 hours to cut well.
  • Post the same clip on three platforms. One short on Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts triples its chances.

Where to start

If you post once or twice a week now, go to three to five and hold it for a month. Then add more as the system gets easier. Track two things: how many people watch past the first three seconds, and how many messages or calls come from your videos.

Our Growth plan covers 20 shorts a month (five a week) and Pro covers 30, one for every day, all cut from videos you record once a week. See pricing or let's talk.
